Interesting to hear how 1) the political premise that public transport is a valuable, societal good and 2) a culture of user-focused systems thinking translates into coherent offerings and solutions, developed through close collaboration. #dktrp #dkpol

… The interview compares the situation in Switzerland with the UK. On that scale I’d say Denmark is somewhere in the middle, but sliding back.

Examples that makes me say say this:
1. Policy for rural public transport delayed for a year
2. Bus routes are being cut
3. Regional mobility planning dismantled (as part of a broader regional reform) without a replacement

4. Due to a combination of deficits in Copenhagen’s land-value capture city development model and the reluctance against covering the deficit from the (significant) state/municipal tax surplus, the Copenhagen transport system is being distorted to increase metro revenues, with surcharges for using the metro *and* policies to actively move people from buses (and bikes potentially too) into the metro.
