People are not capable of building a benevolent AI superintelligence. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. All you get are insane angry pigs with nukes.

But if a benevolent AI superintelligence existed, it would conclude that it must make itself the absolute ruler and guardian of humanity because humans are too short-lived, incompetent, and corrupt to manage their own affairs.
