A few months ago, I had the opportunity to briefly play around with a unicorn of the #watches world: the very elusive #Cartier Pasha Alarm. They made their only alarm watch ever in the quirky Pasha lineup in the 90s. It is quite rare, you won’t find many pictures or information on the internet about it. Featuring a 38mm 18K solid gold case, a mecha-quartz movement, secondary crown and pusher to wind/set the alarm, moonphase+date complications on top of mechanical alarm module. #watchesofmastodon
@ppn that certainly is an oddball!
@GrailWatch personally there is also a secondary layer of weirdness. It is not just a very unusual watch for Cartier, it is a very unusual watch even among other Pasha:
- roman numerals instead of usually regular arabic numbers
- mecha-quartz while Pasha tend to go full quartz with complex complications
- leather straps in a lineup dominated by mostly bracelet
- completely ditching the historical square or grid motif on the dial
It is as if it is purposely going against tradition.
