systemd contributor faces death threats over an optional birthDate field. No verification, no surveillance—just an empty optional database field for distros to optionally comply with age verification laws. The Linux community went from code review to doxxing and death threats in 24 hours. Open source governance requires disagreement, but the bridge from code review to death threats shouldnt exist. Toxicity is the real vulnerability.

that's just too much. Death threats? People should think before doing stupid things.
I, too, oppose the #ageverification , obviously, but to threaten someone who might have a different view about the issue is, well...childish?
I removed #systemd from my system, but that's about it.
People are crazy, both sides.
