Another computer (#Amiga #A600) I brought home from last fair. Time to crack it open and check the caps situation. Came from the same source as the 500+ that already had the battery replaced, so I wonder if they did already swap the caps here.

Hmm. They DID replace the caps, which is a good thing. But the quality of the soldering is questionable.

I'll retouch these.

I should probably test the machine first. But I find these so irritating I need to clean them up a bit.

Closer inspection shows traces of lifted pads by the original repairer. I also see some blackened traces in a few places.

I retouched the soldering, reseated SMD components that were lifted or misaligned. At least the "cap juice" was already cleaned up properly.

This board will require a thorough check before I use it for a project. Will slap a sticker on it to remind me.
