Iran has shot down at least 16 MQ-Reaper drones in the last 30 days, each valued at least $30,000,000, approximately $480,000,000 not counting cumulative costs. This is the most expensive loss in US drone warfare history so far, it also represents 10% of the US aircraft allocated to the region.

@youranoncentral.bsky.social That Iran has been regularly shooting down Reaper drones should have been a big warning flag against the use of low survivability aircraft and over Iran. Reapers typically fly very high, well above the height at which a Manpad could hit them, so the downing of reapers is indicative of Iran maintaining some residual air defense capacity. Iran's air defense may be seriously degraded, but they've got enough to shoot down some jets, yet.
