So…..Lumbini. If I’m honest, none of us are fans. To be specific, we are big fans of the fabulous, exceedingly friendly and curious about where we are from local people. Not fans of the massive opulence in the Buddhist complex amongst so much extreme poverty all around it and Not fans of the big hotel, glad we are in local and home stay type situations after this. All the staff are delightful except the reception ruler who is um, not. Btw, this is my ‘garden view’ 🤣 We’ve actually decided we dislike it so much, we’re going to eat the cost of two rooms for one night each and move on to the home stay in Tansen. #AdventuresOfCass #Lumbini

However, we did discover the best food we’ve had in Nepal to date (and we’ve had some good food!). A 100% vege cafe, Kings Cafe which is a block back from the hotel https://maps.app.goo.gl/xiNmX5BEBA8AgkTy5?g_st=ic

And today, we’re off to Tansen. I think we’re all looking forward to the cooler temperatures and hopefully, nicer people at the home stay. It has wonderful reviews about the friendliness and the food! #AdventuresOfCass #Tansen #Nepal
Ummmm the car has seatbelts for the driver and front seat passenger but none in the back. Sister and I are ready for the brace position 😬 All part of the funky adventure #AdventuresOfCass #Tansen #Nepal
Big traffic jam on the mountain road. There is a temple up ahead and road is full of tuk tuks, motorbikes and people walking towards the temple as well as the regular buses, cars and trucks #AdventuresOfCass #Tansen #Nepal
Hundreds of people lined up to get into the temple. All along the side of the road in their beautiful bright saris (?) and darting through the nose to tail large vehicle traffic to buy offerings on the other side of the road. #AdventuresOfCass #Tansen #Nepal
Bums be squeaky 😬 #AdventuresOfCass #Tansen #Nepal
Well friends, we have arrived and it is absolutely stunning. The home stay family is lovely and are currently making us a fried rice lunch. All are much happier here than Lumbini 😁#AdventuresOfCass #Tansen #Nepal
@dropbear Wow! A top spot. And so glad your hosts are lovely. It makes such a difference. Now I'm jealous - Nepal is calling.
@juliew2010 I had no idea what to expect and I’ve absolutely fallen in love with Nepal
@dropbear I didn't love Kathmandu, but really enjoyed the smaller villages and Pokhara was very easy and relaxed.
@juliew2010 we are in Pokhara the most time - 8 nights I think as we are meeting friends there and have lots of activities planned as well as relaxing
