it’s funny to me how much more often I hear “PGP (Pretty Good Privacy)” on my husband’s Dutch-language news and legal podcasts than in the stuff I read about infosec and data privacy

there was a criminal gang here that used PGP on their phones (didn’t save them in the end) and the Dutch media REALLY latched onto it as a term for “encryption that’s good enough that you can’t simply Law your way through it”

@0xabad1dea do you understand you can be in the middle of nowhere hiding in a bush, no electronics and you will still be found and heard ??? Without ANY known tracking devices, metals or minerals. Have you ever seen someone measure their bodyfat in a water tank ??? Well that is what we are doing now. Get it ??? You disperse with your body and sound. Everyone knows everything. Law enforcement is basically bored at this point.
