I love that they still add fake Quindar tones to the CAPCOM transmissions just because everyone’s used to it and they ended up being useful outside of their original use case.

And assuming we haven't knocked ourselves back to longbows and polearms by then, 500 years from now, starships to space station comms will have that as part of their communication system, and nobody's going to know why, but they know it has to be in there because that's the way it's always been.

@sen I also love that they still use those quindar tone sounds, even though they are no longer necessary in the modern digital communication systems. In amateur radio, we sometimes use that sound as the “courtesy tone” on repeater systems to indicate when the squelch opens and closes. It brings a smile to my face every time I hear it. :)
