Over on Bluesky they are discussing about whether the network is doomed because the active user base is stagnating and/or even declining slightly. I would love to see the fediverse have exploding user stats the same as Bluesky users. Why no doom and gloom over here? It's because we don't have venture capitalists that will pull the plug on us if we don't hit the growth metrics. We never had the deep pockets but what we do have is hundreds or thousands of people throwing resources and money here and there to make this diverse network work. That builds in resilience that one funded by VC and chasing ad revenue will never have. #fediverse #Bluesky
