Lemmy and Piefed getting a lot of mentions on r/technology
And I’m unaware of a better alternative
Exit: if another person suggested Lemmy or piefed, I swear to god

EDIT: Didn’t see the community this was so maybe this was an overly negative comment. I just get so exasperated by people and their attitude. Reddit literally does nothing special except have a bunch of users, yet people refuse to move even when an alternative is provided.
“Lemmy is good but the huge problem is the waiting process to sign up. You also have to pledge to contribute to Lemmy if you get access.”
lol never change reddit
all good I’m mining more as we speak
that’s right everyone lemmy is a crypto thing too
If I wasn’t permabanned from Reddit, I’d be spreading the word. It’s so much nicer over here… but I’m also aware that I said the same thing when I moved from BBS/Usenet to Reddit.
Also, why is Instagram such a hell hole? Between Reddit and Fedi I made a brief stop into Meta products and it was full of the worst kind of people (comments). I’d pick 4chan/b over Instashits.
Idk my slice of Instagram is fine. Like all social media, I curate my feed like an authoritarian would its nation. Anything I don’t want to see, I block. I follow few nowadays (I’m culling my following spree from more naive times)
I’d like to say the same with bluesky and mastodon but the people I follow on shitter, mostly artists and big-ish vtubers, are not there. So
Threaded forums like reddit I’m more than willing to move to and contribute at the very least as commenters. I mean yeah I’m already here more lol
Lemmy is like pre-2015 reddit
I found it too focused on weird like, communist Linux-using privacy nerd sort of views, topics, and humor.
For the sake of optics, the Lemmy developers should make an effort to disassociate .ml from Lemmy itself. Still, the average Reddit user is frustratingly more willing to put up with the platform’s enshittification than learn how to manage blocks on the Fediverse to tailor their feed to their liking.
I joined a couple of months ago and still have no idea how it all really works.
And it really doesn’t matter that I understand. People stumble around the internet all the time, making happy little discoveries and finding new communities. It’s kind of the way things used to work - we didn’t ask, we were just happily amused.

Reddit users may be misguided, but most of them aren’t Nazis.
Uhh, have you seen the place? To be fair, many of the extreme ones could be bots.
users shouldn’t feel unwelcome here simply for using Windows.
Users who are forced to use Windows for work, compatibility, etc. have my sympathy. Surely the PNGVN is most merciful. But those who willingly reject the Beaked One and persist in their ignorant ways are beyond saving.

Yes? Reddit, mostly, is way to the left of Twitter. It’s less “left” to be fair but heavily liberal but it really isn’t a right-wing pool. Some subreddits might be.

This is silly.
