It's because Macron has repudiated the US and Israel's illegal war and affirmed its recognition of Iranian sovereignty. And that's the angle you just aren't gonna get in the US media because we are DEAD FUCKING SET on pretending Iran just isn't wholly in the right this time, for geopolitical power reasons and nothing more.

Macron said Iran will/should survive this. So they let him through.
