Oh look, it's a letter from a Thousand Oaks, California resident, lol...

His house is now owned by our local park district. It's not open normally.

Hmm, this might come in handy, better than tin foil!
I'm afraid to ask what kind of debauchery this was involved with
Ah, Muhammad Ali glove.
Jesus Christ, what else is in this auction... 🤪
These must be famous pants of some sort... 🤔

@ai6yr
The brown ones are from Cirque du Soleil's Beatle's LOVE production. Looks like they've been doing that one for a looong time, so no idea how old those are. But based on the wear, that pair was sweated in quite a bit by dancers/acrobats 😂

Very similar ones have been sold on Ebay in the past 6 months. But the costumes have likely evolved over the years, so it might be hard to find that specific one in video of a performance. Here's a couple similar:

@Catawu @me_valentijn Great research/work! I bet you are correct... This is a Las Vegas auction, so very reasonable that it is from the production there at some point.
@Catawu @me_valentijn Definitely have one of those skirts in there too

That is not checkerboard. It is gingham.

Gingham is (usually) two colours of thread, woven. There are a number of threads of one colour in the warp, then the same number of the other colour, and repeat across the width of the fabric, making medium width stripes of alternating colours going the length of the fabric.

Then a similar arrangement of threads for the weft, resulting in squares of one colour, the other colour, and squares of an even mixture of both colours arranged in a geometric (but not checkerboard) pattern all over the fabric.

@ai6yr @Catawu @me_valentijn

So the pattern is woven in, and not printed on the finished fabric.
