Some cowslips hiding between the grass at the bottom of the playing fields in St. Patrick’s College #Maynooth. You can see hints of both the tall avenues running along the edges of the playing fields, and the college chapel in the background. #Bloomscrolling

@bbusschots Nice photo. What part of this plant looks like cowslips - the leaf or the flower? I'm not seeing it.

@spsheridan seems onenofnthempossible etymologies does tie to the lips of cows, but only indirectly, it grows where the grass is tasty. But most etymologies connect it to cow poops or “slips” because they like to grow out of cow pats, guess it loves manure!
