@bbusschots Nice photo. What part of this plant looks like cowslips - the leaf or the flower? I'm not seeing it.

@spsheridan interesting — never seen that possible word split. Learned up hearing adults pronounce it “cow-slip”, now “cows-lip”. Now you have me wondering about the etymology!

@spsheridan seems onenofnthempossible etymologies does tie to the lips of cows, but only indirectly, it grows where the grass is tasty. But most etymologies connect it to cow poops or “slips” because they like to grow out of cow pats, guess it loves manure!
