So, there’s a lot going on. Pam #Bondi has been thrown on the sacrificial pyre, so that’s fun. Tel Aviv was pounded by #Iran, and the US media isn’t reporting it. The president of these united states has lost any semblance of rationality, and an abandoned Victorian doll haunted by the souls of unrepentant nazis (Stephen miller) is our shadow president.

But I want to talk about Byron #Noem. And here’s why. I’m deeply uncomfortable with how “our” side is dealing with this. This was our chance to shine. We should have been out here saying that as kinks go, cross dressing is pretty fucking vanilla.

We should have used this as a chance for pushing acceptance. Yes, Kristi Noem is a monster who signed anti LGBTQ laws as a governor, and who had the audacity to lecture us while she was mile-high clubbing on tax dollars.

But we have the opportunity here to be the moral actors. If you are an ally, don’t let the right use this to further demonize #LGBTQA, or kinks for that matter.

@MissConstrue

Everyone on our side I've heard from are saying just that. Private conduct is just that whike wondering what monster disclosed this poor fellows secrets.

@jawarajabbi Well, knowing intelligence, this has been known all along, and someone was waiting for the right moment to stick the knife in.

IMHO, There is absolutely zero chance that intelligence agencies of at least 7 nations didn't know about this before she was confirmed. Whether it ever traveled up the chain to leadership? No way of knowing. But I refuse to believe the panopticon didn't know. Someone was holding this as either blackmail or for this very event.

But then, I'm not an intelligence operative, and I have read probably far too many spy novels while waiting at airports pre cellphone era.

@MissConstrue

Agreed this was released strategically by someone. I'd be disappointed if it wasn't Iran if I'm being honest. I know they're assholes but they certainly can be justified in fucking with us now. I just don't think as far as I can see that it's getting much purchase in the pro-democracy media that I am centered in.

@jawarajabbi yeah, there is the possibility that because I also pay attention to what influencers on the right are doing, when I see anything that even whiffs of right wing propagandists, I try to preemptively shut it down.

And when the story first broke, there was a fair amount of teehee nonsense from pundits with video presence, but it seems to have dissipated under scrutiny.
