Ignoring counsel from their most experienced military strategists – based on one’s not wanting to accept what they’ve got to say – historically proved to be the tipping point for any empire towards a slow, contorted, vengeful and violent end.

It’s authoritarian kryptonite when reality continues its resistance to conform to what they’ve convinced themselves to believe in their hateful guts to be true.
