@macpsych Well said. Cook's behaviour has been indefensible this year. I know people say "He's CEO his job is to protect the share value" blah blah. As if that somehow makes it ok?

I Can't imagine Jobs ever fawning over tangerine shitler.

@daveycraney Yeah, There's navigating a challenging political climate with diplomacy, and there's giving a mafioso thug a golden award.
@macpsych @daveycraney I have to agree that that was completely unnecessary even if he just wanted to "save” the company from harm..

@macpsych interesting read. The first part kind of resonated with me. One year ago I've also been praising Apple and how theur product and moreso their software ecosystem was absolutely essential for my work and lifestyle. One year ago I would have laughed at anyone for even suggesting switching away from Apple.

And then, last January I just had enough. Too much degrading software quality over the last couple years, especially accelerating since xOS 26. I got fed up. Apples "it just works" appeal crumbled and below there was just a sea of glitches, bugs and paper cuts everywhere, slowing building up stress when using their devices.

I didn't even consider the political side which is also very concerning. But I've stopped recommending Apple stuff with a good heart. I switched away to a mixture of Linux and Android devices and am much happier than I would have imagined before the stepp..

(I blogged about it too, if interested. https://www.marc-kastner.com/switching-away-from-apple )
