@mahryekuh @grimalkina Yeah, that was exactly what i was referring to, some of the worst addiction tactics in gaming were designed by psychologists paid to make exactly so.
Profit motive is a hell of a drug.

@grimalkina @mahryekuh My memory is vague but i remember that at least one company employed people with degrees and many copied, badly, what they did after.

The field which is the one field that actually contributes to the theory and evidence and direct clinical care and treatment of addiction itself? Feels like a reach to use this as an example of why psychology shouldn't be involved in tech
@grimalkina @mahryekuh I never said that, i meant that it can be used for evil as well, I’m honestly all for more cross contamination, just not uncritically.
