30-year-old me: I'd love Union Types in C#!!!

50-year-old me: No! Nope! No!

#dotnet

@wkfry There's not really a need for unions in the first place. C# already has structs, we can return anonymous records on the stack, there's little benefit of packing it into a dedicated union type beside of saving a line here and there. But chasing trends has become a bit of a thing in the last half decade in .net instead of being a trend setter.
@maxitb @wkfry I'm not sure I follow. What do structs and returning anonymous records on the stack have to do with sum types? Are you perhaps confusing C#'s unions with c-style unions?
