Sunbeam at the Feeder

“Most of the American goldfinches (Spinus tristis) have already migrated north, but I spotted this little male yesterday still hanging around. Maybe he’s staying for the buffet.

Step into a world where even the smallest moments—like the glint in a bird's eye—tell their own story.

@Swede1952 did a double-take, it looked like a three-eyed burb , at a glimpse.

@Swede1952 Pretty surprising Microsoft Ai with CoPilot went on so long and such detail.

I have a question about your editing. Of course the sharp details and rich color must be on the bird. But I see the mottled background is very grainy. Do you usually mostly edit with only the foreground bird and then not fuss with the grainy DoF around?

I don’t mess too much with editing like I used to maybe 4-5 years ago. I do tend to use a noise setting more lately so it may be the whole image comes out softer. I’d like your perspective. Your birds are always so full of character!

@cobalt123

I noticed the noise in the background after I’d already saved it for uploading. Rather than doing it over again, I just went with as is. Chalk it up to laziness.
