@Miro_Collas That is going to cut into foreign sales of the F-35.
The Russians and Chinese are presumably working with the Iranians to perfect the ability to shoot those things down. The second hit proves it was not a fluke.
Who is going to invest in such an expensive weapon, and the American support dependency it requires, if the enemy has proven they can kill it?
They are also doing ok against drones. This is not Saddam's Iraq the USA is fighting.

I am no fan of Iran, but the US needs to be taught a lesson and apparently Iran is doing that.
OTOH, the US never learns. It hasn't won a war since WWII (and that too could be debated, but that's another topic), and keeps making the same mistakes over and over. And each time, the casualty count is horrific.
@Miro_Collas The USA is both too evil and too nice.
The USA cannot just rule like the Romans - send in a punitive expedition and slaughter everyone when a colony acts up. We claim to be the good guys and enforcer of international law, so that easy approach it out.
However, the USA elite (and Israel) do want to be an empire. So we keep getting into these foreign wars where we end up doing evil but trying to be non obvious about it.
The non obvious part eventually fails.
