So, there’s a lot going on. Pam #Bondi has been thrown on the sacrificial pyre, so that’s fun. Tel Aviv was pounded by #Iran, and the US media isn’t reporting it. The president of these united states has lost any semblance of rationality, and an abandoned Victorian doll haunted by the souls of unrepentant nazis (Stephen miller) is our shadow president.

But I want to talk about Byron #Noem. And here’s why. I’m deeply uncomfortable with how “our” side is dealing with this. This was our chance to shine. We should have been out here saying that as kinks go, cross dressing is pretty fucking vanilla.

We should have used this as a chance for pushing acceptance. Yes, Kristi Noem is a monster who signed anti LGBTQ laws as a governor, and who had the audacity to lecture us while she was mile-high clubbing on tax dollars.

But we have the opportunity here to be the moral actors. If you are an ally, don’t let the right use this to further demonize #LGBTQA, or kinks for that matter.

i'm not sure about our, but my side is trying to avoid humanizing the partner who supported noem. just because i vibe the kink, does not mean i should overlook the partner support.

@melioristicmarie Yeah, it's a really fine line I'm trying to walk. I despise all that the Noems represent, and yet I can't help but feel pity for someone living with that sort of cognitive dissonance, and have to remind myself that unlike all the transkids forced into the closet, he has the privilege of walking away and doing whatever he wants.

I think what set me off initially, is that I was seeing (not on fedi) much "tee-hee isn't it funny he wore ladies clothes."

And I mean, now that I've seen the pictures, he didn't even do that. Monty Python did better crossdressing.

More than anything, perhaps it was a statement to myself to make sure that my comments about it were about *him* and not a reflection upon other people who believe there's nothing wrong with something a bit lacy.

folks who teehee an other's consensual kink are assholes. they are for me, in the same boat as the bullies at my offspring's school who belittle kids who play games, carry fun character backpacks and the like.

my distain for their vile anti-social normalization runs deep. they are fascist flavored pro-pretty-only people and my bite at their sort of comments is direct. they are not fine when they cross the line.
