Dana McFarland 🍁 🔥🐎Objective 1: I’m looking at moving my B.C. local news bots over to socialbc.ca, who have graciously agreed to allow me to place them there.
At the moment each of them runs as a VM on their own custom domain, but having decided not to open registrations to users, this is cumbersome and unnecessary. Not to mention it would be expensive when it comes time to renew all the domains.
Plus, hosting B.C.-focused news on a B.C.-focused instance seems logical.
Objective 2: migrate my personal instance from a VM running on my primary workstation to physical hardware on my old workstation. This has historically been a bumpy ride as my Linux skillz are a bit sub-par. In the past this has resulted in some pretty spectacular fuck-ups, but I’ve learned a ton about backups and redundancy in the process. 🤣
