Oh my god, how do I make this go away?

The link I posted above links to where you can let your thoughts about this be known to Telegram themselves. Not that they'll necessarily care, but you can at least speak your piece.
@sec_yote_agenda ...isn't the telegram client GPL?
Maybe it's time for a fork. I also want to be able to pin more than 5 chats without paying.
I'm not Anti-AI but this is the exact kind of hamfisted in your face feature that gives this tech a bad rap.

@thygrrr You're asking the wrong person...though on Android I haven't used the native TG app in years, so possibly? No AI button for me so far, anyway, even though I heard this does apply to the Android version as well.

As an editor-writer, I'm against anything that engages in rampant copyright infringement.

@sec_yote_agenda The windows client is even more obnoxious with the Ai tooltip, I just noticed. First time Signal really looks more attractive from the UX perspective. (signal sticker and bot ecosystem still sucks sour turkey arse though)
@sec_yote_agenda I installed forkgram today, looks good so far.

@sec_yote_agenda Very weird, I didn't encounter it myself.
@ItsFunkyCaptain Not -yet-. ;p
@sec_yote_agenda I installed it just today, so I'm on the latest version is the thing. Dunno, either there's some a/b testing, which I don't believe to be a thing, or the dev managed to remove it after the issue was posted. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@sec_yote_agenda UPD: The AI button just appeared for me on this client, but so did the option to hide it in the fork-specific settings. *Also*, I read that the vanilla desktop client has an option to hide it, so it might appear at some point on mobile too? Hopefully?
@ItsFunkyCaptain My mobile fork settings have it too.
