Have hundreds of scripts figured out & use for automating various processes>activities>tasks>steps e.g.
Daily scripts for
1. Activity:runs “brew update>upgrade>clean”
2. Tasks:clear “cruft” files from Operating System daily use
On demand scripts for
2. Activity: clone>pull>fetch github repos
3. Tasks: locally export, backup & replicate data living in SaaS platforms, so that if they go down/disappear I at least have the data

“What worries me isn’t smart computers—it’s stupid humans, using the crudest energy-sucking generative AI tools to make themselves dumber, debase creativity and undermine the very concept of truth itself.”

> oh, how I long for a time when stock photos were the worst of our problems. This is how we know Senator Simons represents us well. She *gets* it. **Undermining truth allows powerful actors to obscure reality, and profit from our naïveté**, and when we regular citizens can't understand, we can't demand better, or even act according to reality. > What worries me isn’t smart computers—it’s stupid humans, using the crudest energy-sucking generative AI tools to make themselves dumber, debase creativity and undermine the very concept of truth itself. and she's right, time is pressing and adversaries are not waiting: > Before our own post-industrial AI revolution overwhelms us, let’s decide which human values we’re willing to sacrifice—and which we’re not. #CDNPoli #Canada #LLM #LLMs #AI #politics

Democracy as a principle gives each “eligible person” the “right to have say/choice of options = vote”, not a system to impose only 1 choice & call that “democratizing access to the 1 choice”. That’s authoritarian, fear-based imposition, not democratization of choice & decision making.

If “the answer” is known, stated & mandated even before the question is asked, that isn’t democracy! That’s “law of the instrument” or “Maslow’s hammer”-https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_the_instrument

Most experts & specialists in a specific field have multiple tools in their “daily practice toolbox”. They don’t use them at the same frequency & each person has their favorites. They choose which tool to use (or not) based on the problem situation, their acquired skills from practice and their preferences at the time.
Having “all your eggs in one basket” monolith is never a good approach from a risk and financial profile, so what do that from a career perspective?

So much this. If the aim is to ship stuff, then the bots can already outship us. If the aim is to grow a next generation of thinkers then the bots don't help. "The real threat is a slow, comfortable drift toward not understanding what you're doing. Not a dramatic collapse. Not Skynet. Just a generation of researchers who can produce results but can't produce understanding. Who know what buttons to press but not why those buttons exist. Who can get a paper through peer review but can't sit in a room with a colleague and explain, from the ground up, why the third term in their expansion has the sign that it does." https://ergosphere.blog/posts/the-machines-are-fine/
