Spring flowers in the garden. #Gardening #Flowers #Spring

Genista in full bloom.

Next door has two new black kittens and both were huddled in the shadows under the genista this morning with wide eyes. I couldn’t get a photo as I was diverting my dog’s attention away from seeing them at the time. #Gardening #Flowers #Spring

Wow, @Broadfork you are a few weeks ahead with all the lovely flowers. Here it's mostly daffodils at the moment.
How good to see some colour.

@feinschmeckergarten Most have only been blooming for just over a week. The genista, aubretia and bowles mauve have been flowering for a couple of weeks. We still have the larger daffodils but the smaller varieties have gone over.

It makes a nice change to have the tulips in bloom while the weather is still cool. They will flower for much longer this year than last.

In the last couple of years they have bloomed alongside a mini (for spring) hot and dry spell and been quickly sun blown.

@Broadfork fingers crossed for a long tulip season!
The plant supports made me smile. We have the same in our garden. Do you reckon they will be featured in Gardeners' World again this year or can Monty do a year without showing how they are made?

@feinschmeckergarten The plant supports stay in situ unless the plants they are for didn’t make it through winter.

I don’t watch GW very often anymore. No doubt Monty is still doing his best to promote the UK’s horticultural grit industry on a weekly basis.

@Broadfork feels like petals of happiness :)
@kellyromanych Yes it’s really nice to see the tulips blooming again.
@Broadfork i feel that way about the poppies, they are like mini tulips for me

@kellyromanych Californian poppies are very beautiful flowers. I like it when they look like little witches hats before they open.

I like welcoming in the different flowers associated with each stage of the turning wheel of the year. Tulips are dominant in the garden at the moment.

@Broadfork 💚 turning of the wheel of the year 💛
@kellyromanych I found a bigger hat. From a couple of years ago.
@Broadfork LOVE IT! I will have to go back into my camera roll :) There was one this morning you would have loved. I couldn't take a pic, Geo was with me to start his walk
@Broadfork @kellyromanych I LOVE the double tulips! I aim to grow MANY more. All the colors. I might help them mate.
@KeithDJohnson @kellyromanych My current favourites are the parrot tulips but I like them all. With family living there The Spalding Flower Parade was an annual event for us every May.
@Broadfork @kellyromanych
Nice.
I haven't found the file with the blue & purple ones but here's some from my garden.
@KeithDJohnson @kellyromanych Lovely. They cheer things up around here for sure.
@Broadfork mine are still just poking out of the ground here in Zone 6a MI. Not even a daffodil. The crocus is / are up, though, so it won't be long.

@Broadfork @KeithDJohnson

Both your tulips are welcome and cheery in my feed 🙏
