My very first N95!

I live in the UK, so the masks I wear are certified FFP3. I've also worn FFP2, KN100, and KN99 masks.

#N95 masks are functionally the same as the masks I usually wear. The same mask could be certified #N95 in some countries and #FFP3 in others.

@ninawildflower A lot of n95 and ffp2 masks would easily pass n99 and ffp3 certification and are essentially downgraded to create artificial distinction and price points. Guys like Lloyd Armbrust have created extensive independently verified databases of masks and their performance levels using sophisticated machinery of the same type used in the official testing.

@ninawildflower I'm perfectly happy to wear an N95 that is in the 99.5%+ ballpark, so long as it has a good sealing system, because that is where a lot of masks ultimately fail to protect the user, not in the quality of the melt blown layers, but in sucking air around the edges. This is where some n99 designs are superior.

@ninawildflower I'm specifically thinking of masks like the Moldex Airwave series, which have molded cup designs with foam around the entire periphery of the part of the mask that contacts your face. You're basically getting an elastomeric in terms of sealing performance.
