I just spent 7 days in Australia and didn't see a single spider. I did see a bunch of kangaroos hanging out by the airport, probably plane spotters.
@grumpygamer there's a head camera video where a guy is paragliding touching down in a remote area and within a second of landing a kangaroo comes up and punches him then hops away and that's been my established model for what greets anyone arriving by air in Australia

@jplebreton @grumpygamer i am reminded of Terry Pratchett's Last Continent with the bit where one of the characters (edit: it's Death, of course it is) asks for a list of dangerous animals and gets 100 volumes dumped on his head, so then asks for a list of non-dangerous animals and a tiny sheet of paper floats down with a single sentence on it

"Some of the sheep..."

@ahchay @jplebreton @grumpygamer lmao is that the book where Rincewind reaches into more than dubious holes in some dangerous desert rocks and produces a plate of cake or sth?

I need to re-read these

@ppxl @jplebreton @grumpygamer could be, a lot of the rincewind stuff blurs into one for me, it's been a while since I've read the early books too
