Amazon doesn't own them. Private delivery contractors own the trucks. But Amazon lends the contractor the money to buy the truck, and charges interest.
If the truck crashes, the liability is on the contractor.

The part of the equation most often left out is that shifting a journey from car to public transport benefits people other than the person travelling - not least, the people still in cars who have less congestion to deal with.
Why should the ticket buyer have to pay for all those other benefits?
