Volume 1 of the #MonochromeMarch e-zine is now available for download.
Click on the link and it should immediately download (thanks to @benbradley for the Dropbox tip!)
Links for Volumes 2 and 3 will be posted on the next two Fridays.
Thank you for making the event such a success, your enthusiasm and images were inspiring.
Please see the comments for a few notes on the curation process, and I'd love to hear any feedback. Boosts appreciated.

Notes on the curation of the #MonochromeMarch zine images:
There are around 150 of MY favourites but I'm not Ansel Adams, I'm just an ordinary bloke, so please don't be offended if your work isn't used.
I chose images for many reasons - subject, composition, creativity, tone, light, shadow, contrast, quirkiness, etc.
The zines are free, all permissions have been granted and if you want to print them, go ahead, but please don't sell them.
We'll do it again in 2027, with a few minor admin tweaks.
Here's how to bypass the Dropbox login, sorry about the scruffy notes!

@StevenLawsonPhotography
Quick note:

When I clicked on your link, I landed in my own Dropbox files, with no obvious way to get to your shared doc. Dropbox is stupid that way. Worst interface ever.

The solution: in Chrome, I opened an incognito tab and pasted your link in there. That took me directly to your file. πŸ‘

Nice zine! I'm glad you put this together.

@BobHorowitz Thanks for that Bob, I will have to stick with Dropbox for now but next year I will find a more elegant download solution.
@StevenLawsonPhotography there's a quicker way to share Dropbox links without needing to jump through these hoops. If the URL ends dl=0 change it to dl=1 and it will immediately download.
@benbradley I didn't know that, thank you for the tip! I've edited the download link.
@StevenLawsonPhotography Fantastic collection! Thank you again for your idea and tremendous effort. ☺️
@StevenLawsonPhotography Thank you once again, and what an exciting selection! I’m already looking forward to next year!
@StevenLawsonPhotography this looks great! I love the way you arranged the pictures in nice matching pairs, so they can produce extra feelings.

@StevenLawsonPhotography You Rock! Thank you!

But on my iPhone I can’t get the download unless I sign up or give my email for a link by email later. Is that as you thought? I haven’t been able to select download.

@cobalt123 @StevenLawsonPhotography You have to open it in Safari, then you have a tiny arrow at the bottom left to download.
When I just click the link it takes me to another browser (from Mastodon?) and that doesn’t work, but there is the Safari logo that you can click on.
@StevenLawsonPhotography Thank you, that looks phantastic! So many wonderful pictures, a great collection!

@StevenLawsonPhotography What an incredible collection of images πŸ–€ Amazing work here, Steven, you've got a good eye for curation.

And of course, thanks for including one of mine πŸ€©πŸ™πŸ»

@mikehindleuk Wait until you see Vol. 2 πŸ˜‰
@StevenLawsonPhotography Can't wait πŸ€©πŸ™ŒπŸ»

@StevenLawsonPhotography

Wow. Steven! πŸ’ͺ
What a triumphant effort to bring folk together for the #MonochtomeMarch challenge and then to showcase a snapshot of the amazing contributions in such a fabulous way. I love the e-zine and am enjoying checking out the images that caught your eye!

πŸ™ For the setting the challenge, for shepharding us to maintain momentum throughout March, and for collating the e-zine. #Legend

What a great selection, really shows what a range of excellent images got submitted. Glad to hear that it's coming back next year. 😁
@StevenLawsonPhotography awesome! Well done and also well done every one who contributed photos!
@StevenLawsonPhotography @benbradley wondeful! Thank you very much. I look forward to seeing the other two volumes

@StevenLawsonPhotography Super collection of monochrome images, Steven! Very nice zine! I look forward to volumes 2 & 3!

@benbradley

Love it @StevenLawsonPhotography and thank you for the event @benbradley πŸ‘

@StevenLawsonPhotography

Looks great Steve! Terrifically executed. Thanks again for providing the impetus!

Wow! Thank you for assembling these beautiful works by the Fediverse’s own collection of decentralized Federated monochrome aficionados!
@NYSloth I like that description but it doesn’t quite roll off the tongue! πŸ˜‚

@StevenLawsonPhotography @benbradley

What a great collection!
I completely overlooked the hashtag and whole event ^^ Next year maybe. Would be also great for #bwPhotoCollective game as it lost it’s momentum in recent months.

@StevenLawsonPhotography
Also many of these I recognize from my feed :)
@StevenLawsonPhotography @benbradley πŸ‘πŸ‘ brilliant! Thank you for organising this - and making decisions 🀣 It's been great just to follow but this beautifully curated collection is 🧁
@StevenLawsonPhotography fantastically put together Steven, thank you for all your efforts
@StevenLawsonPhotography Thanks for the idea and your effort!
How can it be I missed so many of theses pictures in my timeline? Need to follow more folks
@mamue The best way to keep up to date is to follow the #MonochromeMarch hashtag, or any hashtag for that matter, then those posts will automatically appear in your daily timeline.
@StevenLawsonPhotography
Sure. Maybe I got an overdose of black and white and unfollowed the tag πŸ€” I can't remember... πŸ˜…
@StevenLawsonPhotography @benbradley Very nice photo zine :) I loaded your zine into a free comic book reader on my iphone and it looks really nice. Maybe look into uploading it to https://archive.org and get a nice flip flip book too :) there are a ton of older zines there so tag it as such and add to the stacks. (I have been down a zine rabbit hole and think we need more of them!)

@byandreas @benbradley Sounds interesting, I will look into that, thanks.

@StevenLawsonPhotography

Beautifully done. I really like the pairing! It really adds another dimension. Looking forward to vol 2 & 3! 😊

@StevenLawsonPhotography @benbradley itβ€˜s finally out and looking gorgeous! what a wonderful selection, so much diversity in there
Thank you very much. Great work. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Just a FYI:

Also, are you doing these monthly with different themes or is this a once-a-year thing?

@beep Yes, I was aware and have upgraded my account from the free one to a professional one at a cost of Β£19.99 a month, so that should solve the issue. This was a once a year event, but I am considering doing something in August, too.
@StevenLawsonPhotography @benbradley
this is pretty damned cool.
thanx

@StevenLawsonPhotography It's phenomenal!!

I love your abstract water zine and used it as an example for how page layouts impact our understanding of visual content, and you nailed it again with this. I adore the image pairings.

I hope you do this again next year ~

@StevenLawsonPhotography @benbradley Wow, I'm amazed at the quality! It's awesome!

@StevenLawsonPhotography @benbradley

@SallyABL Congrats on your cactus 😊 Great collection of photos here.

@RHW @StevenLawsonPhotography 🀭 Thanks! Totally unexpected. So delighted to have been included given all the fabulous contributions to the challenge. And more to be shown in vols 2 and 3.
