After a little bit of faff I got my ZBT-2 setup as a thread border router / antenna and got my first #Matter over #Thread device online. The Timmerflotte Hydrogometer from #IKEA.

Device is bigger than I expected (hand for scale). Setup was easy enough but had to reboot #HomeAssistant and turn off some Matter/Thread stuff I tried to set up previously then it worked. Now I know it works I have two more sensors to set up when I have some more batteries.

I also had to delete the existing thread device from devices so that my ZBT-2 thread border router became the default network.

I joined my phone to my HomeAssistant VLAN just in case too not sure if this is necessary, eg is my phone doing the connecting or is the home assistant box
