i feel vindicated for never using LinkedIn. after i saw all the questions they asked, i abandoned the account; because, just like Facebook, they made it almost impossible to delete.

i fucking hate techbros and everything they stand for. may they suffer all they heap on us, tenfold

@blogdiva
Not only do they collect information, they sell it to data brokers.

As an experiment, I tried to delete my digital presence. I couldn't figure out why I kept showing up in DeleteMe's reports every quarter. Then, I deleted my LinkedIn account, and suddenly new records of me in data brokers listed offerings stopped.

Anecdotal evidence, but still, that was my experience.

@katrinakatrinka sounds about right. it’s why i have never, ever used a dating site. nope, sorry. not worth it.

@blogdiva Glad I have never visited their website, and with NoScript active an accidental link click would not be able to run their javscript to harvest this information. On top of all else I do not use Chrome etc. Three layers of defense.

Linkedin has no right to exist. They certainly have no right to my data, and it appears that by chance I have managed to enforce the latter.
