One of the things I hate about Netflix is knowing that each and every click, every pause, every I let a preview run for more than 2 seconds, they're tracking each. And. Every. Bit. And will keep showing you the same thing over and over again because you one time were like "wait, what the fuck was that?" Or the dog made a racket while a show was selected so the trailer played for some cringe bullshit show you'd never watch but now it THINKS you'll watch it. Or "oh you watched 2 shows in this genre, now we'll show you EVERY show in that genre. You're That Kind Of Watcher. For fucks sake ...
@JessTheUnstill they don't track anything if you use Kodi with the F/OSS Netflix Plugin (and configure it not to report anything back). They even sent me an email requiring action or else they'd cancel my subscription because by their numbers, I hadn't (ever) watched anything.

I don't understand.. why would they care, as long as you were still paying them?

@Fishercat @JessTheUnstill I'm guessing it was to avoid lawsuits from evergreen contracts
@adamhotep @JessTheUnstill What's an evergreen contract?
@JessTheUnstill @adamhotep Oh, those. Thanks. So.. you think not using their service made them concerned you were going to try to reclaim money that you hadn't intended to spend on it?
@Fishercat that is my theory, yes
@adamhotep Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying.
