Nice day for a ride :)

Cool, some light mist, once it sort of achieved a light drizzle. No wind.

Very busy trail.

Rode a bit on the way out and the way back with a stranger and had a chat while we rode. But in the middle he went all the way out to Warburton (and started in Lilydale, not Mt Evelyn)

I'll thread some rants about other bad riders.

But on the positive, lots of long tail cargo bikes with kids on the back.

And 3 emus spotted at a farm.

This trail is mixed use: walk (with dogs mostly), ride (a bike) or ride (a horse).

I came across 3 groups of horse riders. The first there was no incidents.

The second passed my while I was having a seat and a pack of teen emoto riders were going the other way. The horsewomen needed to shout at them to slow down, and the teens were unruly.

I briefly conversed with the horsewomen and reminded them that there have always been antisocial teens (don't blame the tool, blame the tool riding it)

The third set of horsemen were coming towards me, two on the side of the trail in single file, a third in the verge beside them.

A mature man riding a city style ebike was about to overtake them, but he was going very slowly.

While going down hill.

I'm not saying you should pass them a high speed, but their speed +5kmph is fine.

He did it so slowly that it meant while I was grinding up the hill I had to squeeze past.

So he shouted at the horsemen to get out of the way........

Oh, and at 48.4 this is my second longest ride I have a record for.

Not too far to hit my PB: 50.3 on May 1st, 2010.

Although I just noticed that the bubble chart in GAP is not doing things right, my commutes are all across 2 days, so I have a bunch of days I rode 53km but they are recorded as 2 events.

When I get to 60km in a day I know that is probably a real record for me.
