Ive discovered that the timeline for my older son to do a report about a kind of science project where he hasn't even done the experiments yet is the week after we get back from next weeks spring break. My #guix peeps, what is the absolute lowest fuss way for me to get working #Quarto on his guix system laptop?

@dlakelan Use a rocker container, maybe? I assume you can run, or do run, Docker? This keeps the dependency tree to a minimum.

You can download decent rocker containers, add Quarto and a few R packages to the build, and then he can run his own JupyterHub with a RStudio front-end. I use this to provide RStudio with Quarto to hundreds of students every term.

@wsburr

Interesting idea. I'm much more partial to #Julialang myself, but it's not a terrible idea. My familiarity with Docker, or podman is only passing, but if this turns out to be the best plan, I can probably make it work.
