Almost Half of US Data Centers That Were Supposed to Open This Year Slated to Be Canceled or Delayed

The vast majority of data centers scheduled for completion over the next few years have yet to even break ground.

Futurism
@brianvastag See children, good things do happen in this world.

@cpkimber @brianvastag

Well it cost lives and ecological disasters to happen. :/

@brianvastag hopefully they stay not started.
@brianvastag @LabSpokane Yes, good news. But I will believe it when I see it. They're building them like gangbusters near where I live. Cheap power.
@mlanger @brianvastag The โ€œgoodโ€ news in WA is that the utilities are out of power. At least GC PUD is at/near its limit. This will locally cap this insanity for a while.

@LabSpokane @brianvastag Grant County? The one data center I got to visit was at the airport in Moses lake.

East Wenatchee and Malaga are being overrun with them. It's horrifying.

@brianvastag My candidate for most business school pilled sentence this week:

> โ€œWeโ€™ve seen firsthand the value it can create if you are not hamstrung by electrical infrastructure lead times,โ€ Crusoeโ€™s Likens told Bloomberg. โ€œThey can make or break a project.โ€

@brianvastag
Considering that that data services is one of the few things that the USA is capable of (force) exporting in the world I'm not sure if that is completely positive news.

For physical products the GOP & Trump are working overtime to make the USA an unattractive place to manufacture.
