My first absolute must-see recommendation for MICF is Kate Dehnert's "Echo".

Make some time for this one, but read the content warnings for sure. She goes to some dark places but you're definitely allowed to laugh. It's ok.

Kate Dehnert | Echo | Melbourne International Comedy Festival

@mike sounds like something right up my alley - thankyou!

@mike I used to love going and spending an evening or two at #MICF before I got old, and COVID hit, and everything tripled in price. Now, I occasionally get paid to attend*, depending on whether or not the ABC is fucking their workers**.

Apologies for the rant. You didn't ask for a rant, yet I provided one. If you like it, you can keep it.

There is some fucking great comedy being made out there, and I wish I could support it and its makers better.

@ghost_shit @mike the Canberra Comedy Festival goes for about 10 days in March. I make a point of going to the gala plus seeing two different shows during each festival. It can get expensive, depending on the artists, but I do like to support the event. I also see a fair bit of live comedy throughout the year.
