Can anyone give me an honest gauge on what it's like living in/near Winnipeg?

I'm particularly interested in input from people who are:

  • Trans (esp. transfem)
  • Disabled
  • Public transit users
  • Lower income / unable to do highly physical labour

@silverface If you live on or near one of the main roads the busses are fairly consistent. Elsewhere is either 30 minutes or more between busses or have weird hours. They're still tweaking the schedules.
@silverface I don’t tick all the boxes. It seems like it’s rough. Less funding in Manitoba than wealthier provinces for everything. If you live near certain transit locations it can be good enough to get to a large number of places, but not everywhere is well serviced. I’ll be learning more about income assistances in the coming months, but I understand it’s hard to get.
I suggest people look at the maps of crime to get a feeling of where is safer. E.g. an older one: https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/85-561-m/2004004/4053776-eng.htm
