Some interesting weather tid-bits this month. Temperature over the month was very close to average. Of course there were variations from day to day. The overall high was 15.3 °C and the low was -1.3 °C.

For fun I messed around with trying some changepoint analysis on the observed likelihood of rain on each day of March. It looked like the local dry-season begins mid-March. The analysis confirms this. The first plot is fit through all of the data. The second is the cumulative. sum measure of the CP analysis. Something changes at point 40, 13 March. The final plot shows fits to the 2 periods, before the change, and after.
Rain really does quickly get more unlikely after 13 March at #UVic.
