This is a little self-promotion.

I turn to relax, to quiet the sometimes overwhelming noise in my mind. Through this, yes I have improved my mental health, but I have also accumulated a lot of bowls and other objects. I'd like to show you a selection of them and if you you're interested sell one to you. It's the first time I've tried this.

I'll be at the #UVic #UnitedWay Artisans Market on Wednesday from 12:00 to 18:00 along with about 40 other local craftspeople.

The fee I paid for the table at the fair goes to the United Way, and I am donating a large bowl to the raffle to help to raise even more.

I just told the class, “Tell me when I can help you with reproduction.” It was one of those moments when you realise what you said when it's too late.

We play a fisheries management game in the course I teach. In the game the student have a little fishery (coloured wooden tokens) and can each take different numbers as their harvest. At the end of the season the fish reproduce.

In our third video from the University of Victoria, we use a new protected bike lane on Gabriola Road between CARSA and the underground bike parking at the Campus Bike Centre. #yyjbike #biketooter #UVic #bikelanes

I'm teaching a lab about micro-plastic pollution (we separate fibres from beach sand and count them under a microscope). The students have to think about sources so laundry grey water comes up. I had to show them Mr Floatie.

I'm challenging myself by venturing out in public. I'll be at the #UVic artisans market on 26 November. I'll be happy to exchange your cash for a round wooden object.

I'm donating a bowl to the raffle as well. Table fees and raffle tickets go to the #UnitedWay in #VictoriaBC

"[D]o students using AI tools actually learn more? Early results — as yet unpublished — have raised some red flags. Wang and his colleagues found that students who use an AI tutor often score higher in tests immediately after a class than do those who don’t use the agent. But two to three weeks later, the AI users scored lower than their peers. “Students might have a false sense of understanding,”

Universities are embracing AI: will students get smarter or stop thinking?

Millions of students arriving at campuses are now using artificial intelligence. Worries abound.
