Does anyone in #kitchener #waterlooregion know where I can donate used textbooks? I have some from my engineering days that could be donated. #KitchenerWaterloo

@counterVariable Local maker spaces? High schools? :)

Failing that, ask a librarian.

@alice_i_cecile @counterVariable Not makerspaces. I haven't been with Kwartzlab for over a decade, but when I was, getting people to not bring us their junk was a constant issue. Drop by on a Tuesday and ask, maybe, but expect a no. (Then get a tour and appreciate how cool it is).
@alice_i_cecile @counterVariable The problem is textbooks, unless they're stone cold classics, have negative value. Used bookstores won't take them. UW Used Booksstore used to have a free shelf you could drop them off, but UW Used Bookstore itself is now dead and gone. https://wusa.ca/more-details-behind-the-closure-of-wusa-used-books/

@alice_i_cecile @counterVariable If you do think they might be useful, you can scatter them around little libraries, or, in a pinch, Thrift on Kent will take anything, tho I'm betting they'll end up being pulped.
