I think I might really love doing abstract works. It’s so different than my other works & yet the same.
In any event, I like the way I paint and approach the art more. I consider it more. I find it more relaxing. I don’t need to find reference as it’s from my imagination. I can explore surprises that I like. I can be less autistically literal, and more adhd explorative.
I am excited about this work.
It feels unexpected of me even to me.

Abstract art is really freeing. I never thought I liked abstract art until I tried a 10 minute YouTube tutorial, I find it to be relaxing and fun, even when I'm not in the mood

I’ve always dabbled off and on, but never quite happy with it. But right now, I’m seeing real potential in what I’m doing now. In any event, it’s the first time it’s really been satisfying artistically and aesthetically. I have a clearer vision.
I feel almost guilty switching up to abstract after doing figurative for so long, but I hope to also have pieces where it combines.
It feels like such a shift, but I feel this is making me a better painter by making me examine the work more.
