Listen. Listen. Come here.

When you're trying to do a quick and simple sewing project maybe - just maybe - don't do it in a black and white print fabric that you can't stand to see interrupted by a line of topstitching. Just saying.

This toot is sponsored by Winslow Culottes which is a simple and satisfying pattern with an absolutely punishing hem you don't want to be doing by hand.

Which I'm currently doing by hand.

This could have been, after pressing, about 15 minutes on the machine.

But no.

Black thread stands out too much against the white parts of the print; white thread is an eyesore on the black parts.

Here I am doing an invisible stitch by hand and hating myself.

They're gonna be so beautiful, I promise myself, so good. In about 2h of hand stitching. Instead of 15 mins on the machine. But it's fine

@jjcelery 'quick and simple' are the famous last words, the magic spell that opens up a rabbit hole on a flat spot where a second before there wasn't even a hint of it. It's the Macbeth in the world of projects, any projects.
@TazPoltorak this toot is so good I read it out loud to Himself. He laughed a little too hard 🥲🙃
@jjcelery It's true and I know it from experience of saying it outloud; if anything ever seems such, it becomes the opposite. I am glad you both found it entertaining, and the laughter definitely comes from experience
