I am so fed up with people who insist on their illusions, who insist on [fill in] "AI" while refusing to talk about how "AI" works and its impact.
"Using AI for activism is tempting, in social movements as well as in election campaigns. You may already be doing it! But are you sure you’re harnessing its full potential?" I am not using it for my activism at all. So yes, I am using its "full potential". That’s an interesting one. I wonder if “socialist AI” is an oxymoron/self-contradiction in the same way as the others. If I were using “socialism” as a positive description of a postcapitalist future, then “AI” cannot be in it. But I think we should not deny the risks of authoritarian socialist scenarios which are compatible with certain forms of “AI”. (But “”AI” is inevitable” is an incoherent argument for “socialist AI”.)
