My least favorite thing about #OpenStreetMap is how communicative fellow editors ain't.

@ill_logic Depends what do you mean by that. Just chatting about osm in general? There are different local and not local groups that people are using to chat about osm.

Responses to changeset comments? OSM sends message as email and people often miss it if they dont read their email regularly so if there is no response it is good idea to also send direct message. Notifications about new dms are shown in the editors. But quite a lot of editors rarely edit or dont edit anymore so they wont see any of this and some just dont care so your mileage may vary.

But in general I do agree that OpenStreetMap often attracts people who prefer do things on their own. Osm have some social aspects but they feel like exceptions rather than a rule and it would be cool to see this improve some day.

@ascii_only Yeah the OSMUS Slack is pretty friendly. I'm talking about changeset comments. I could also throw in changeset descriptions, but that's another whole long discussion.
@ascii_only I'm a software developer so I'm expecting something more like Github where you add details and hash things out. OSM editors are perhaps thinking it's more like Wikipedia where I think (and I could be wrong here) there's less concern about stepping on toes and giving specific explanations for things.
