Comment if you have done this! 😂

#computers #laptops #bios #uefi

@itsfoss it happens sometime every quarter
@itsfoss not yet. But keep it in mind for next time.
@itsfoss
Yah, i need that rarely and each device uses quite different keys, so this works for me as well
@itsfoss works every time 😅
@itsfoss me waiting to see which f key to press...
Alt text suggestion: "The man" in the GIF is Canadian streamer "xQc".
(Someone else could reply to me to offer... 𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴.)
Thank you!

@itsfoss hahahaha

Almost

Not like that
But rapid presses of the fn keys

@itsfoss that is the only reliable way. Everything else is madness
@itsfoss I end up entering Boot menu instead of BIOS
@linkachus17 yeah that also happens 😅
@itsfoss a version of that, at least, and recently! Why is it not always the same?!
@itsfoss why not? it is very useful sometimes

@itsfoss 😂 Pure madness who work I guess, depending of the key registered at the right moment.

I'm more hammering a key guy, my F12 ke can testify of this 🤣

@itsfoss I haven't, but I *will* from now on!

@itsfoss

Yes. I always do something like that.

@itsfoss yes but only if f12 doesn't work on first try
@itsfoss uhh...
yeah...
I immediately knew it was BIOS. ;-)
@itsfoss I only started doing the boot time function key slide after seeing a video of someone doing the boot time function key slide. It's a bit of a crap shoot as to what boot time agent responds.
@itsfoss I just used the Pause/Break key.

@itsfoss Nope. Been running Linux since I was a small child in a sailor suit. (Not really. Early 2000s. But it feels long ago.)

Is this a way to skip the asinine Windows hardware checking or something? (I know it's BIOS, but my BIOS screen looks a bit different, so I'm guessing it's some Windows modification?)

@itsfoss hahaha… this is neat
TIL
@itsfoss literally was in this situation for the first time last week! 🤣
@itsfoss Yup! Definitely done this...
