40 (mostly) Pig Empire countries just got together to figure out how to keep the Straight of Hormuz open. They settled on pressuring Iran to open the Straight and sanctions. At literally NO POINT IN TIME did they mention pressuring the US and Israel to STOP BOMBING IRAN which is why the Straight is closed (to some... us, for example.)

I got nothing. Why are we allowing these muppets to lead us when storming the Winter Palace is right there?

"Yvette Cooper condemns 'Iranian recklessness' over global economic security"

I repeat, we are literally bombing them as we speak. Our President was just bragging about doing war crimes against civilian Iranians using a bridge this afternoon.

It's like I've dropped acid and I'm living in the nightmare...

@AnarchoNinaWrites 0 surprise from that gov, they purged anyone remotely sympathetic to Palestine or left wing when Starmer took charge. They will do nothing to stop Trump.
@AnarchoNinaWrites For those who aren't aware, she has form for being a bit rubbish and had significant involvement in the ban on Palestine Action that is currently working through the appeal courts having being judged illegal!

@spanghero @AnarchoNinaWrites

She is, of course, also a member of Labour Friends of Israel (LFI)

@AnarchoNinaWrites

My guess is bystander effect coupled with diffusion of responsibility. Everybody's waiting for someone else to get the party started, because everyone knows what it means once we do...

@AnarchoNinaWrites

Iran should say, "When Trump and Netanyahu are removed from office and jailed for their crimes, we will open the Straight of Hormuz."

@AnarchoNinaWrites I'm still trying to process how the heck has Pedro Sánchez become the most vocal opposition, not by saying that war was an atrocity, just by saying they should play by the already broken set of international rules for war.

That's the bar we're all having. A lukewarm socdem with an internal and external policy of implementing half-baked solutions and discourses.

@AnarchoNinaWrites Because you can't negotiate with a bad faith actor. And that this point, the US acts in worse faith than Iran.
Also, you're totally right.
@Flux I mean you can - we call them sanctions. They mentioned them specifically in reference to Iran. So we're CHOOSING to ignore that the US and Israel is bombing them as we speak.

@AnarchoNinaWrites @Flux I know you know this but it's the money. 🤑

I remember reading right after Jan 6 how The French TM had no plan and weren't sure what they would have done if the US fell right then and there because "our economies and countries are too interconnected"

in other words... they don't want to be sucked into the Black Hole

However... I honestly thought when this part came Europe would be smarter than this... guess I was wrong *shurgs*

@Aviva_Gary It's going to take another 2-4 years minimum to disentagle just from the damage T can do via just flapping his lips.
@AnarchoNinaWrites

@AnarchoNinaWrites Iran's now saying they want to coordinate with Oman to come up with a new protocol for transiting the Strait. China is almost certainly quietly pressuring Tehran, and they have leverage.

The Europeans seem to be operating on old imperialism software that says "obviously we run everything, we'll come up with something". The French and British ought to be remembering Suez right now.
