I didn't realize the facebook execs Mozilla acqui-hired last year have been promoted! I was assuming they were still just heading the ads division of Mozilla, but oh boy, I fucking wish.

Now the former Senior VP of Marketing of facebook (2008-2022, the finest years of facebook) is the CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER of the entire Mozilla.

And the former VP of Ads in Facebook (2012-2022), is now the Senior VP of Product of Mozilla.

Let me repeat this:

The guy who used to lead the facebook team that was literally "advertising to teenagers based on their emotional state" is now the guy who decides the direction of Firefox as a product. But hey, let's keep giving Mozilla the benefit of the doubt uh? I'm sure these people-who-should-be-on-trial-in-the-hague are going to do great things for the community!

🅰️ℹ️ There is commotion in the fediverse about an AI tool that can summarize your last 24 hours timeline. This is a privacy+security issue, but we can't guarantee for 100% that your posts/toots are stolen by AI.

What we did was suspending the zeitgeist.blue domain, but we don't think this will help much or even works, because it's a client, not a activitypub server. We blocked the IP-address, but there is no guarantee the IP stays this way.

The reason that we can't do much about this, it that those AI summaries are requested by one of your followers. It goes like this:

your follower >> posts on timeline follower send to Zeitgeist >> Zeitgeist sends it to Claude (AI) >> Claude sends it back to Zeitgeist >> Zeitgeist sends it back to your follower

So your posts are already on the timeline of your follower server. Todon.* can't do a lot about that. What we can do is to block as much AI crawlers as possible (we just updated robots.txt), BUT that only helps for our servers. And if your follower is on another server, this will also not work for their servers, because the posts go through the Zeitgeist 'service'. Blocking the IP will than help, but probably temporary.

We also limited the alpaca.gold server and blocked their admin. This server is not used for scraping, but is a AI-bro server.

Si bebiese un chupito cada vez que viese una noticia sobre algún facha que reniega del partido de extrema derecha en el que estaba o del líder fascista que ha apoyado, pero no reflexiona sobre sus ideales ni realiza un acto de introspección, no acabaría borracho, pero seguro que estaría eternamente por encima de la tasa de alcoholemia.

Estaba volviendo a casa, y estando parado en un semáforo me he encontrado a un señor llevando una scooter y con tremendas pintas de prepper: pantalones y mochila de camuflage, y saliendo de dentro de ésta, un montón de machetes en fundas y hachas.

Luego que por qué mucha gente ve el tener ese hobby como una bandera roja.
