On GrapheneOS, one must download the Play Store of choice first in order to get apps. Wild land here.
#GrapheneOS
@rio I mean, that's... pretty standard? If you don't install GApps on LineageOS it's the same exact story
@[email protected] ¡Well, its my first time here! I thought it was kinda funny!
@rio I wonder if you'll be able to get OsafuKeitai running on it. I wish I changed my device model before the trip last year, sadly I was too lazy and had device with locked bootloader/no root on me so I couldn't test.

(International models of Google Pixel can use OsafuKeitai just fine, there's a check in the app if device was sold on Japanese market. I literally just ran "sed" on devinfo partition which changes model ID to one corresponding to a Japanese model and it works. Downside is that I have global shutter sound in Android but I don't really care about it since it's not obnoxious
@[email protected] Unable to disable camera shutter is crazy but then again I guess it kinda makes sense at the same time...
I keep hearing a lot about this Osaifu Keitai functionality but I have never seen anyone use it in real life... most people in this countryside uses either cash or barcode payment like PayPay. I have a physical transit card as well (SUGOCA - basically a Kyusyu SUICA variant) so I don't know if the trouble of setting up osaifu keitai is worth it... I suppose I'll take a look when I have the energy to!
@rio I guess it makes sense, having an IC card in your phone is only useful in really crowded areas like Tokyo or Osaka

>SUGOCA
(I still think Suica's design is cuter)
@[email protected] How did you get a hold of that!! That card is Kyūshū exclusive!!!
@rio I've been there, friend of mine ( @naruciakk ) is a 電車オタク and he asked me to buy one for his collection
